Packs of Kyrenia Animal Rescue Festive Cards, which were designed by local schoolchildren, are now on sale from the KAR Office, the KAR Charity Shop and the KAR Stall at the Chateau Lambousa Saturday Market. They are priced at 12 TL per pack of 6 assorted cards, with all profits going to the TRNC registered animal welfare charity. Our recently refurbished Charity Shop can be found easily in the road opposite the Post Office, in the parade of shops near to the Fire Station. It is staffed by a wonderful team of volunteers who work hard to help raise funds for the animals. It is open Monday to Friday 9am – 3pm and Saturdays 9am to 1pm. Some of the best dressed people around use our shop! New stock arrives all the time so with regular visits and careful looking you can find incredible bargains and sometimes something very special! We do have a 'special rail' of better quality items for sale in the hope of achieving a better price than usual and therefore increasing the amount of money raised to help cover the costs of the rescue centre The shop sells : Second hand and occasionally new clothing Books and magazines in English and German Shoes and bags Household goods and bric a brac Occasionally electrical goods and furniture Lynda's handmade cards and recycled cards (In fact anything we can get through the door)

The original KAR charity shop was opened in October 1999. It was established solely for the purpose of raising funds to support the animals in our care. The shop is manned by volunteers and the goods sold are donated by the general public. When donations are received they are graded and priced accordingly, items in poor condition are bagged up and at a later date given to some of the not so well off villages in the outlying areas. Also some of the better quality goods and bric a brac is reserved for events such as the Christmas Bazaar or Dog Show where they would raise more cash than being sold in the shop. The sorting can be hard work, but at times funny, Girne seems to be endowed with a large number of one legged people judging from the number of single shoes we receive! New volunteers and donations to the shop are always welcome, so please come in and visit us or call:  +90 (0)392 815 2490. All our efforts are aimed at supporting the animals in our care, but without volunteers or donations we can achieve nothing, so please help us if you can. DONATIONS OF GOODS ALWAYS NEEDED
